Macaw Lodge is situated in a remote natural oasis. There are no restaurants or shopping in the area. Fortunately, the cuisine, prepared by a local chef and her team, is plentiful, delicious and nutritious. We incorporate vegetables, lettuces, herbs and fruits from our gardens along with homemade breads and tortillas, jams and salsas, and fresh meats, eggs and other foods from Costa Rica. You can choose from a two- or three-meal plan. Each plan includes breakfast and, with the two-meal option, you can opt for lunch or dinner. Breakfast is often buffet style, while lunch and dinner are served at your table in the dining room overlooking the botanical gardens. You can do a little bird and butterfly watching while you dine. Coffee, teas, juices and water are provided and you can purchase sodas, beer or wine from our stocked refrigerator. Both lunch and dinner include three courses with salad or soup (varies daily, chef’s choice), hearty entrée and dessert.
